Architecture of Belfast
Belfast is arguably the best example of a Victorian City in Ireland. It has many fine Victorian public buildings such as The Ulster Hall, Queens University Belfast, The Opera House, Belfast Central Library, St. Peter's Cathedral, Carlisle Memorial Methodist Church, Crumlin Road Courthouse and Gaol, The Customs House and many more. It also has many fine vernacular ordinary Victorian buildings which give the City much of its character.
Architects such as Sir Charles Lanyon and William Barr left a significant built heritage legacy.
